29.06.09 -U20 Men Russian National Team beat Greece twice.
Men youth national team U20, continue preparation to forthcoming European Championship. In Atheens free control games were played against Greece and then moved to Turkey to play international tournament. Series of games against Greek national team finished with sucsess of our team: losing first game (score – 60:72), players of Alexander Vasin confidently played two other games (84:65 and 70:54). |

27.06.09 -Champions of ASB proves its status
Champions of ASB – men team Inzhekom (Cherepovets) and women team RGAU-MSKHA (Moscow) – sucsessfully represented Russian at 9th Euroepan Champioship among students in Iraklion, Greece. Basketball players Moscow Agricultural academy proved its status and the second time in a row took gold medals. |

26.06.09 -Qualification rounds of Russian StreetBasketball Championship 3x3 were held in seven cities.
Qualification rounds to Russian StreetBasketball Championship 3x3 were held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Perm, Ufa, Vladivostok and Khabarovsk. Second round of moscow regional stage was marked with a victory of two time champion of the country, legendary team Iguana, which in final in overtime beated Mystics. In youth team Babka4Life was the winner, the main newsmaker were women team «Nezhdanchik», who beated winners of the first round and come to 1/8 of the final. Men Moscow ranking-list is headed by winners in two rounds – «Magazin Stritbol» and Iguana. In youth category first place was kept by «Minuta Petrosyana». |

On June 3rd, 2009 the utive Committee of the Russian Basketball Federation made a decision to create a new structural subdivision of the basketball federation called the Department of Consulting and Development of Sport Technologies of RBF. The Department is aimed to carry out free of charge consulting activity in the fields of interest of professional basketball clubs of the Russian Federation (both of the acting clubs and of these that are just on the set up and organizational stage) and of other basketball organizations. Silver winner of Russian Championship BC "Khimki" officially included in the list of participants of Euroleague Basketball season 2009/2010. Moscow regional basketball club receiving wild card organizers became second representative of Russia in the main Eurocup. 21.06.09 -Russian Women National Team - silver medals in Women EuroBasket 2009.
Women EuroBasket 2009 finished on Saturday in Latvia. Russian Women National Team with its leader Valeriy Tikhonenko confirmed its highest reputation and in fifth time in a row achieved final stage of continental competition and finally took silver medals. In final game as in second group stage game success was for French. After two complicated games in quarter final and semifinal against Latvia and Spain, Russians could not stand the tough game schedule (three tough games of play off stage in three days) and in final leaders of our team did not have enough physical freshness. However, for the honor of themselves our team was fighting till the end. Losing by the end of 1st half 19 points we could overtake the initiative and almost saved the game. Unfortunately in the final minutes the luck was for France – 57:53. |

21.06.09 -Youth National Team won the tournament in Venice
Russian U20 Men National Team won international tournament in Venice. Russians took three victories in order to get the main price of the tournament, beat Turkey 77:70, Germany 82:64 and Italy 83:72. Final game with host team was very tough: the destiny of the game was decided in the final quarter and Alexander Vasin’s player made a good jump to get the price. |

Сегодня главный тренер сборной России Дэвид Блатт обнародовал имена 13 игроков, которые в этот четверг отправятся в Китай, где 10 августа команда стартует в Олимпийских играх. В этот список вошли:
форварды – Андрей Кириленко («Юта Джаз», НБА), Виктор Хряпа, Андрей Воронцевич (оба - ЦСКА), Никита Моргунов («Локомотив-Ростов»), Сергей Моня («Динамо» М);
центровые – Алексей Саврасенко, Александр Каун (оба - ЦСКА);
защитники – Джон Роберт Холден, Виктор Кейру (оба - ЦСКА), Захар Пашутин («Спартак» СПб), Сергей Быков, Петр Самойленко, (оба - «Динамо» М) и Виталий Фридзон («Химки»).

28.07.08 -Баскетболистки юниорской сборной России - серебряные призеры Чемпионата Европы!
Женская юниорская сборная России (игроки не старше 18 лет) завоевала серебряные медали на завершившемся в воскресенье в словацком городе Нитра Чемпионате Европы. Преодолев два групповых этапа турнира и выйдя в плей-офф, наша команда в полуфинале в упорной борьбе взяла верх над Чехий - 62:60, после чего встретилась в решающем матче со сверстницами из Литвы. Увы, в финальной игре, в которой соперники имели равные шансы на успех, удача отвернулась от россиянок: поражение - 57:63. |
